The proposed budget agreed by Cabinet on 11th December 2018 marks a turning point for Northamptonshire County Council, as it sets us on the path of securing and stabilising our financial position, transforming our services and confidently moving towards the future.

We are putting forward a fresh way for us to rise to our financial challenges. We are investing so we increase capacity in our own services, facilities and assets, so we can improve outcomes for our most vulnerable adults and children and at the same time become less reliant on more expensive external contracts and arrangements.

This budget marks the start of being able to stabilise our financial position and improve our financial management while making services far more sustainable for the longer term.

We want to gain a better understanding of peoples’ opinions and need you to help us shape the future design and focus of our services. What you say will be part of a report with many other people’s feedback, so you will not be personally identified.

Your feedback on this consultation is really important to us, and all consultation feedback will be analysed and considered, and will help Councillors make a final decision on the budget at the Full Council meeting on 21st February 2019.  This meeting is held in public and anyone wishing to speak at the meeting must call Customer Services on 0300 126 1000.
