Consultation on services to support young people that are not or are at risk of not being in education, training or employment (NEET)

Closes 3 Jul 2020

Opened 22 May 2020

Overview

This questionnaire is for parents, carers and professionals. If you are a child or young person who has received support from Prospects (outside of the support you received whilst at school) then please fill in the other questionnaire which is relevant to you.

We are finding out what people think about services that support young people that are not or are at risk of not being in education, training or employment. These are sometimes called NEET services and are provided in Northamptonshire by Prospects.  Their website can be found at:

https://prospectsnow.me/

Prospects Advisers help young people to decide what they want to do and support them to achieve this. This can include help to look for work and Apprenticeships such as preparing CVs, making applications and preparing for interviews.  Prospects Advisers also tell young people about courses and training that can help them improve their skills and qualifications for future employment e.g. college courses, the Princes Trust and traineeships.

If a young person needs help with other areas e.g. mental health, relationships, money.  Prospects Advisers can assist young people to find the right specialist help.

The current NEET contract provided by Prospects comes to an end 31st March 2021. This means we need to start preparing to think about a new service so that it will be ready by 1st April 2021. Starting a new service is an opportunity for us to review how the service could work differently. We want to make sure that the service still meets the needs of those who need it and would welcome your ideas and suggestions on what you would like us to improve. To help us do this we want to hear the views of children, young people, parents, carers and professionals to help shape how the services are delivered in the future.

Your feedback will be part of a report with many other people’s feedback, so you will not be personally identified.
